Hazel was out of the first litter we bred, and is what we strive to replicate in our breeding program. Whatever we've asked of her, she has done, eagerly and successfully!
She made breed history as the first female Chesapeake to earn an AKC championship (CH) confirmation title, utility dog (UD) obedience title and master hunter (MH) title. As of 2018, only three other chesapeakes (which were all males) have earned that same trio of titles. She also has earned an AKC rally excellent (RE) title and a working dog qualified certificate (WDQ) from the American Chesapeake Club.
As a testament to her train-ability and "willingness to be a team player" she was owner trained and handled to all of her titles! As are all of my dogs!
She was bred twice and produced some very nice pups. We have two of her offspring (Jack and Hilda) and she has passed along her good looks, talent and wonderful personality to them.
Hazel is currently enjoying her well deserved retirement and pretty much does whatever she darn well pleases (and we let her because she's earned it)!

It’s with a very heavy heart that I make this final entry on Hazel’s page.
On December 30th, 2020, my husband and I said good-bye to our dear, sweet Hazel. She was 13 years and 8 months old and brought joy to us every single one of those days of her life.
